How the test works
The timer starts when you begin typing. The test estimates WPM by treating five correctly typed characters as one word and dividing by elapsed time. Accuracy is calculated from matching characters compared with the characters you typed.
Practice advice
Try a one-minute test first. When you can type accurately at a comfortable pace, move to more difficult passages with punctuation, numbers, and longer sentences. This tool is for practice and does not provide an official typing certificate.
